WritBid API

Read-only access to sheriff sale listings across every tracked state. Pull live data into your own tools, CRM, or spreadsheets.

Authentication

Every request needs an API key. Generate one on your API keys page (Pro plan required). Pass it as a header:

You can also pass it as a ?api_key= query parameter, though the header is preferred.

List listings

GET /api/v1/listings

Returns active sheriff sale listings (upcoming and adjourned), newest sale dates first.

Query parameters

Parameter	Type	Description
`state`	string	Two-letter state code (e.g. `NJ`, `PA`).
`county`	string	County slug (e.g. `bergen-nj`).
`category`	string	`real_estate`, `vehicle`, or `equipment`.
`limit`	integer	Results per page, 1–200. Default 50.
`offset`	integer	Skip N results for pagination. Default 0.

Response

Returns JSON with a data array, pagination object, and a notice.

Limits & rules

Defendant names are never returned. This is enforced platform-wide and not configurable.
Data is aggregated from public county sources and may lag official notices. Always verify before acting.
Max 200 results per request; paginate with offset for more.
Keys can be revoked anytime from your keys page.
